Learning Management System (LMS) - MeridianMeridian Releases Next Generation LMS - Meridian Global 2008.1.Chantilly, VA - November 9, 2007 - Meridian Global builds on Meridian's 10 years of experience in the LMS and Human Capital Management (HCM) industry, supporting some of the largest LMS implementations in the world. Meridian Global provides the award winning LMS features of the previous Meridian product offerings while extending these learning management features to leverage WEB 2.0 technologies to drive performance, knowledge worker collaboration, and employee satisfaction. The embedded Workforce Analytics provide executive dashboards for compliance, skills gaps, learning productivity, and LMS ROI as well as comprehensive workforce reporting. Executive dashboards include the C level dashboards, LMS administrator dashboard as well dashboards for all first line supervisors. Underlying this functionality is industry leading technology. Meridian Global consists of 100% .NET managed code (C#), with over 1,300 API methods exposed via SOAP WEB services (as well as .NET Remoting and COM). "This approach provides ease of integration at any point in the application, not just the typical user profile and content integrations. No other LMS supports full integration with corporate portals or embedding LMS functionality within other applications," said Dave DeVaux, Meridian's Chief Technology Officer. "Organizations experienced with LMS implementations will immediately appreciate the impact Meridian's technology has on the total cost of ownership while allowing complete customization. Meridian Global has been specifically designed with ease of customization and upgrades in mind," said Paul Somerville, Meridian's Founder. The product employs a Meridian developed application architecture, the Dynamic Instantiation Service Map Architecture, which allows all calls to any base product object to be remapped to an alternate custom object via a simple change in configuration (service map). This architecture keeps all customized code completely separate from the base product code. Upgrades are made to the base product code, leaving all customizations completely intact and operational. If desired, the client may also choose to migrate upgraded functionality that was previously modified, simply by changing the service map. Early adopters of Meridian Global 2008, desirous of the multi-lingual features, dashboard and analytics capabilities, and ease of configuration, include General Services Administration, AutoZone, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, Inc., and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
